Being a NICU mom is a club you (often) do not anticipate joining. It certainly was not a membership I thought I would hold.
My daughter, Rylee, came into the world at 29 weeks and 1 day weighing just 2lbs. We didn’t know that a 66 day NICU stay was in our future and we were unprepared for what a NICU stay entails.
As a former NICU mom and psychologist I understand the unique challenges faced when it comes to parenting, navigating work/life balance, relationships, and surviving motherhood when your journey to get there was complicated.
This is what motivates me to work with NICU mothers and families who are trying to figure how to get through their NICU stay and manage all the feelings that come with bringing baby home.
I want NICU mothers in particular to know that they are not alone. Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you on your journey through this complicated, and exciting, time in life.
