Beyond the Isolette is a group meant to provide support for mothers whose child/children have recently been discharged from the NICU. Transitioning home from the NICU can be challenging. Having a community where you can feel seen and supported can make a difficult time less lonely.
This is a space for mothers, 0 - 6 months post NICU, to find community and talk about the challenges of bringing baby home.
-
Over the course of 7 weeks we will hold space to process the transition home. Topics include:
Adjusting to Life at Home
Getting to Know Your Baby Outside the NICU
Loneliness in the Post-NICU Journey
Understanding your Emotions in the Post-NICU Journey
Remembering You Matter Too
-
This is a closed group which means that the group will consist of the same people from beginning to end. Having a consistent group membership provides us with an opportunity to build a community of mothers who “get it”. The group size will be between 4-8 people.
We will meet for 75 minutes (1 hr and 15 minutes) each week. The first 15 minutes are spent going over group guidelines and the topic for that week. The remaining 60 minutes are for discussion and sharing.
It is strongly encouraged that you attend each session, but I understand that life happens!
-
The cost to participate in this group is $169 (around $24 per session). This rate covers all 7 sessions and is due prior to the first session.
The group will be held virtually via Zoom. The Zoom link and password will be shared once registration is complete and payment has been received.

Oftentimes, a stay in the NICU can be accompanied by trauma and significant loss. Those experiences can be complex and complicated. Discussions of grief, loss, and trauma may arise, but will not necessarily be the focus of the group.
If you are having a difficult time navigating trauma and significant loss it would be best to explore individual therapy or a support group aimed specifically at those topics.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about if this group is appropriate for your situation.
